Rape Prevention Education Program
The purpose of Interact's new Rape Prevention Education (RPE) program is to develop a sexual violence prevention
plan to reach college-aged students in Wake County in an effort to increase community awareness of sexual
violence and decrease incidence of rape/sexual assaults on college campuses.
Interact is working to strengthen and expand community collaborations to enhance the role of various community
stakeholders in the prevention of sexual violence, as well as implement the "Healthy College Dating Relationship"
curriculum. In 2007, Interact hired a Rape Prevention Education Coordinator to develop and teach the curriculum.
The two-year RPE grant is funded by the Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public Health,
Injury & Violence Prevention Branch.
If you would like for the RPE Coordinator to speak to your college-aged class or group, contact Interact's
Administrative Office at 919-828-7501.
